Hey everyone!! Welcome back to Mackenzie Kateri! The other day I reached sixty followers and I BEYOND excited!! I am so thankful for all your beautiful souls who subscribe to my blog!! And I am so grateful that you lovely ladies take time out of your day to read my thoughts. As you can tell by the title of this post, it’s school season!! Today I started my senior year!! Yes, me, a five foot girl who looks like she is twelve years old, started her senior year. I really like my schedule this year. I have a lot of electives and an easy course load, because I took my AP classes last year. I am taking a creative writing class, which I can tell is going to be my favorite! Creative writing, come on, can it get any better? But, I also have accounting, graphic arts, and a computer science as electives as well. So, what was I taking about? Oh yeah. This post is dedicated to how to make a school uniform look stylish. At my school, a very strict dress code is enforced, so basically every fashionista’s worst fear. The dreaded khakis and a polo shirt. And there’s only so much a girl can do to make this look fashionable. For me, I find adding accessories and color is most effective. So for you girls out there who have to wear a not- so stylish uniform to school, this one if for you!! Let’s take a look. XO, MK
Add some bling!! Earrings, rings, bracelets! I usually always wear my Alex and Ani bracelets, which are pictured below, with a light pink beaded wrap around bracelet!! The light pink color pairs cute with khakis. A few accessories can transform any outfit.
Beaded Bracelet: Aero, Bangles: Alex and Ani, Earrings: DSW, Rings: Rue 21
I’ve actually never worn belts to school until this year! I think that they are a fun pop of color. I still have to buy more, but the thick brown belt (obsessed with the indigo beading!) is from Rue 21 and the thin, green bow belt is from Charming Charlie’s. Does anyone know where I can find cute belts?
Shoes and Some More Shoes
Colorful and cute shoes are essential. I don’t think I have ever told you guys this, but I probably have enough shoes for the rest of my life… and that might be an understatement. This are a few pairs of my new school shoes, but I also wear converse a lot, simply because they are easy to throw on and they match any color polo. All the shoes pictured are from DSW, but the white/ multicolor pair is my favorite! Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world, or at least the school hallways.
At my school, we are allowed to wear red, white or navy blue sweaters. So yes, finding cute sweaters that fit this requirement is hard. But I managed find a few cute ones! My favorite is this floral chiffon covered white sweater from Target, only $15.00!
