So yesterday I attended my first college visit!
It’s crazy how fast times fly… one day you’re an awkward freshmen who is scared to open their locker, the next you’re preparing for senior year. However, looking for a college is challenging. It’s overwhelming. It’s overwhelming to feel like you have to know what you want to do the rest of your life at such a young age. And although I am unsure about a lot of things, I am certain that I want to live in a big city setting.
I visited the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan, New York. The school was AH-mazing. The chaos is beautiful and exciting. Coffee shops are planted practically on every inch of the campus. The campus is colorful. The school offers so many opportunities to each student. On my student led tour, I was showed all the different aspects of the fashion industry. There is so much more than just fashion design, such as fashion business/ management, textile production, film, and advertising. Anyone have tips about college hunting? Or any FIT alumni?! Leave comments !!!
The school also has a museum that is open to the public! The Fashion and Textile History Gallery displays vintage pieces from a variety of designers including Chanel and Gucci. My favorite part of the museum was the vintage 1920’s Chanel suits. So, that’s a wrap of my New York City adventure, besides enjoying a delicious slice of pizza and some other snacks along the way!
Sincerely a NYC wannabe (and the girl looking for the perfect college)
